(This is a message which Pol Wirtz issued in his personal name to the press this afternoon.)
As the matter has become topical in the press I would like to contribute a few facts to the information that NMG, the small publishing house that brought out 352magazine has been declared insolvent a day before Christmas Eve. 352magazine aswell as its predecessor LuxembourgNews have been an inititative originally carried by myself and a few people who invested time and money since 1983 because they wanted to contribute to the integration of the International Community here. The sole income has been advertising (95%) and subscriptions/newsstand sales(5%). Aide à la Press would have made the difference, but the Luxembourg Gouvernment only supports newspapers in French or German. NMG had been in intensive talks with larger publishing firms and preparing for a take-over in January, 2009 when it was declared insolvent on December 22nd 2008 and had to stop publishing. I will be meeting with the Curateur on Thursday and would consider it wrong to say anything else at this time. I will report about the progress soon in a blog which will be reachable from this website. Pol Wirtz
