- TER in France and L in Belgium are no synonyms of "Regionalexpress". There is nothing to be said about "Regionalexpress" for these countries, as you can check in the German, French, English, Dutch articles. DovaModaal (Diskussioun) 16:56, 23. Sep. 2025 (UTC)
- A more correct comparison is that InterCity in Belgium resembles Regional-Express in Germany: subsidized trains over longer distance with fewer stops. But that is not very encyclopedic and just an opinion of a lot of people. DovaModaal (Diskussioun) 17:01, 23. Sep. 2025 (UTC)
- TER in France is like the sum of RB Regionalbunner and RE Regionalexpress. TER is a commercial name that is property of one of the transporters (SNCF) and not only used for trains but also for buses, and not used by their French concurrents like Transdev, It is not a train category like in Germany where it is shared by all transporters. The commercial name TER is now slowly phased out as the French regions are not the owner of that commercial name. DovaModaal (Diskussioun) 17:09, 23. Sep. 2025 (UTC)
- To be correct, in Belgium exists one RE-train coming from the Netherlands: nl:Drielandentrein fr:Train des trois pays de:Dreiländerzug, but in Belgium RE or names like that are not used for this train. There the train category is an S-train (S43). Certainly not an L-train...
- In fact, the Netherlands has real RE-trains. That country can be added ! DovaModaal (Diskussioun) 17:19, 23. Sep. 2025 (UTC)
